Last week, at Mercedes-Benz Fashion Week at Smash Box Studios during Fashion Week L.A., it happened over and over again. Over the course of five days of fashion shows, a parade of models strutted down the runway in black after black outfit. If the designers were feeling really creative there was grey over black, a black and white shemagh, an ochre belt over a grey tunic, a black tunic over blue jeans. Though I found the silhouettes, details, and tailoring impeccable, I wondered why the designers had chosen so few colors.

LOS ANGELES, California — The Transportation Security Administration said Friday its officers at a Texas airport appear to have properly followed procedures when they allegedly forced a woman to remove her nipple rings — one with pliers — but acknowledged the procedures should be changed. The woman involved — Mandi Hamlin — told reporters earlier Friday she was humiliated by last month’s incident, in which she was forced to painfully remove the piercings behind a curtain as she heard snickers from male TSA officers nearby.

A growing number of Britons are choosing to travel abroad for surgery, attracted by big cost savings, but 18 per cent of them concede the experience was problematic.

They included a tummy tuck patient who ended up with septicaemia and a liposuction patient whose stomach wound up "leaking cellulite".

More than a quarter said they did not receive the necessary follow-up care and 8 per cent were forced to turn to the National Health Service for emergency help when they got home.
